The 2nds long run of success came to an end in a tight game against Greystones 1st XI in Druids Glen. On a cold and damp afternoon, Malahide won the toss and asked the home side to have a bat. Greystones total of 227 for 8 was built around an excellent century (121) from John "Moffo" Moffat, previously of Leinster CC and a former pro at Railway Union, although it's a mystery how he survived a blatant glove behind. In reply at 82 for 6 after 19 overs, Malahide looked dead and buried but a superb fight back led by Glen Kirwan (61), Felix Page (37) and Atif Kamal (26) took the visitors to within 20 runs of a famous victory. Next week's match at home V Merrion 3rds is now a must win match.
