The U13a lads turned in an inspired fielding performance against a seasoned Rush team. At one stage, Rush were 2 for 6 : early innings line and length bowling was matched by some sharp catching, and disciplined field placings.  Rush were restricted to 51 off the bat, with some perhaps wayward bowling toward the end of the innings increasing the total to 79.  Wickets to Ewan (3), Wilhelm (3), Dan (2), Christopher and Matthew. Good bowling from Adam and Diarmuid with the latter taking a remarkable running catch.  Excellent fielding from Thomas at deep mid wicket and notable thanks to Sam for stepping up to take the 'keepers gloves.
Unfortunately, the lads let themselves down at bat.  A total of 54 runs short said something about the opposition's bowling but more about shot selection and the fundamental need to block and defend the wicket.
