First game for the U13B's and it could hardly have been against more difficult opposition away in YMCA. The home side won the toss and decided to bat first. Some good bowling and gritty fielding restricted the strong Claremont Road outfit to 120 in their 20 overs.
But for 3 (very difficult) dropped catches and a few too many wides, the YMCA total could have been kept under 100 and a more manageable chase. In the end, the Malahide lads held their own and their nerve only losing 4 wickets but closed on 43 behind.
Lots of spirit and team work but lots to work on for the backroom staff
Result: YMCA U13B 120-1 (20 overs) beat Malahide U13B 77-4 (20 overs) by 43 runs
