Despite a wonderful bowling performance by Martin Nicoll (6-20), Malahide 4th XI came up short in Phoenix Park in a low scoring game v Civil Service 2nds. Sent into bat the opposition found it difficult on a testing track and soon Malahide's bowlers were on top. Bowling 3rd change, Martin struck with a double wicket maiden in his first over and then a wicket maiden in his next. The home side were eventually out for 114 and the villagers were confident of that much needed victory to ensure Division 8 status.

After tea, Malahide wickets tumbled at regular intervals with the only real resistance coming from Dave Symmons (25), Riley Shoebridge (22) and skipper Alan Quinn (23*). Malahide's final wicket went down in the 42nd over and 10 runs short.

A dissapointing afternoon in sunny Civil Service CC but notable for Zac Woods-Oliver (age 12) great three over spell of bowling and Ben Askew's (age 12) rear guard effort in the face of some quick seam.

Two games left and still one victory needed!
