On a bitterly cold August evening (the score book described it as "crap&cold") and following straight on from the final for 6 of them from each team the Ladies 2XI supplemented by their regular young starters took on RU in a re-arranged league match. RU decided to bat and put on an impressive 97 in a reduced 15 over match. Pick of the Malahide bowlers was Becky Moore taking 4 wickets including a C&B for a miserly 10 runs in her 4 overs.
A solid partnership between Sorcha and Caoimhe got the score above 50 before both fell quickly. The run rate stayed at a run a ball and run the remaining batters did stealing off byes and wides with some solid batting from Grace & Hannah M leaving 4 required off the last over. Hannah was joined by the other Hannah and between them they scrambled the runs required including a most audacious steal off the last with the ball in the wicketkeeper's glove and with RU somehow managing to miss the stumps with run out chances at both ends.
