The U13A boys had another disappointing outing.  With Merrion batting first, Malahide’s bowlers aimed for line and length to put the pressure on the batsmen.  Excellent bowling from Wilhem (1-4) and Josh (2-14) followed by wickets each for Zohaib and Katie Brophy kept the Merrion innings in check.  However, despite a good catch in the deep by Zohaib and catches off their own bowling by Wilhelm and Josh, we were too generous in the field with mistakes giving Merrion an extra 20 runs at least.

It's better to draw a veil over the Malahide batting.  A target of 102 should have been within our reach, but our lack of concentration and technique cost us dear with the top 6 batsmen all out bowled.  Bright spots were the innings of Mathew and Aaron Doyle making his debut for the U13As.  

In the end Malahide fell 42 runs short against a team that on paper we are far closer to than that figure suggests.
