U13As Taught Hard Lesson at Leinster

16 Jul 2017

The boys U13A team was put to the sword by a strong, well-disciplined Leinster XI.  Their bowlers wrested the game from us early on, removing four of our batsmen for just five runs.  Wilhelm's 30 retired moved our total on, but he lacked support.  Only James Dickinson (7*) and Justin Court (3*) showed the necessary resolve and patience to ensure we batted out the twenty overs to finish on 57 for 9.

It was not a total we could defend and Leinster knocked off the runs in eight overs despite some good Malahide fielding and a wicket for Oscar.

This was a tough debut in the A team for Cillian, James Corroon, Justin and Noah, but each competed well and showed real potential that further coaching can realise.  There will be more opportunities for them to come.
