U13A Boys Breeze Past Adamstown

12 Jun 2017

Another fine team effort saw the U13As defeat Adamstown by 70 runs.  The top order reached 122 with the loss of only one wicket.  Wilhelm and Elliot both retired on 32, Oliver Manks scored a chanceless 27* and to finish Daniel hit 10 off just 8 balls.  The strong batting performance was matched by near-faultless fielding: not a single dropped chance, a run out by Finn and stumping from Jack.  Miserly bowling by Oliver Jeffrey-Carrick and Wilhelm left Adamstown to 10 off five overs.  Then the wickets fell: two a-piece for Wilhelm, Finn, and Oliver Manks, and one each for Zohaib, Oliver Jeffrey-Carrick, and James Dickinson on his A’s debut.  Oscar’s two overs of nagging leg-spin epitomised the team’s application.  A meeting with Railway Union awaits in the next round.
