Although the outfield, in places, was more Somme than summer, the season has finally turned with the 5ths gaining their first league win of the season. Opting to bat, a steady start led by Ken Wigmore, creaming 32, was seized on (and after a particularly long 6 more seized up on) by Kevin McPhilemy (58) and Malcolm Ogilvie (24), who shared an 80 run partnership for the 4th wicket. 2 cameos by Abhijit Gokhale (28 NO) and Wilhem de Klerk (16 NO) followed leaving Leinster with 191 to win.

With ball in hand, it was time for the youth to shine with some excellent fielding (catches do indeed win matches) and 2 standout bowling performance of 4-32 by Wilhem and 3-26 by Diramuid Burke in his first adults' match. As the dot count rose, Leinster were all out for 152.
