The Taverners emerged from their winter hibernation, blinking into the sunlight of a charming winter-spring-summer-autumn (and repeat) Friday evening. Put into bat, North Kildare started strongly but later wickets spread across Dan & Chris Smith, Dave Roche & Malcolm Ogilvie plus some crisp run-outs left them on 98 at the end of their 15 x 8 ball overs.

In truth, the reply was comfortable. Retirements from Jef Oliver, Eckstein Maritz and that man Chris Smith, plus a supporting cast of cameos had North Kildare waking up and smelling the coffee of defeat after less than 9 overs.
