Through the Winter on the LCU Website, Eddie Lewis provides a division by division analysis of performances in 2015. He is currently reviewing the performance of youth players who played adult cricket in 2015 for Division 12 which is the league that Malahide 5th XI played in last Summer.

OVERALL : Malahide 5ths used 10 different youth players in their 2015 League Campaign (3rd most in the division), those players played 68 matches between them or 6.8 games per player (2nd highest in the division), which is a good indication of how well the 5th XI has worked in terms of introducing young players in to playing regular adult cricket.

BATTING : 2 Malahide youth players featured in the upper echelons of the Division 12 batting statistics. David O'Halloran played 8 matches in Division 12 and scored 308 runs (including 4 fifties) at an average of 44.0 .  Riley Shoebridge, who only played 4 matches, scored 122 runs at an average of 30.50.

BOWLING : The Division 12 bowling figures were dominated by Malahide youth players. Alex Davies took 17 wickets at 15.71 (the best average in the division), Ryan Condron took 16 wickets at 18.44 and Zac Woods-Oliver took 10 wickets at 29.00

It is highly likely that all of these players will be playing in higher divisions next Summer so it will be up to the next "generation" of youth players to step into their shoes.
