Match report Phoenix batted first. Lara and Rebekah bowled very tight first up, Phoenix looked to be getting a good solid start. Tight bowling built the bit of pressure that when phoenix girls looked to steal tight single Tess got important breakthrough wicket of Vanessa with a direct hit. Lara and Rebekah kept pressure on backed up by good Malahide fielding. Rebekah then followed up with 4 wickets in her spell of bowling to put Malahide on top at half way stage with Phoenix 26 for 6. Orla Martin batted very well, was the backbone of the Phoenix innings. Phoenix batted well from here with good 7th wicket parthersip of 27 to get Phoenix back in game and build a total of 64 for 8 off 20 overs. Sorcha(20) and Caoimhe(37no) opened the batting and survived well against the pace of Phoenix opener Vanessa at the start. They both continued their good form got team most of way to target before Sorcha was caught.
Good solid performance for Malahide 2s last home match of season. Maybe 1 match to go.......
