Match report Comfortable win for U13A boys

In their first outing for the year, and playing on the main pitch, the U13A boys completed a comfortable victory over Railway Union on Sunday. An all-round team performance saw every player bat or bowl, complemented by an excellent fielding display which included two direct-hit run outs.

Malahide batted first and quickly accumulated 115 in their 20 overs, highlighted by a 66-run third wicket stand by Zac Oliver-Woods and David O'Halloran. Both were unlucky to get out on 33 with retirement beckoning. In reply, Railway Union were rattled by two early wickets from Dan Read and from then on were always behind the asking rate, finishing 45 runs short. Matthew Carrick joined Dan as a multiple wicket taker, and Matthew Reynolds went home with the plaudits for his fantastic fielding.
