Match report Winning the toss and electing to bowl proved to be the right decision by Captain Sorcha as the put Leinster in to bat on the wicket prepared for the Ireland SA games on a breezy but sunny morning in the Village.

It did not look that way at the start as the Leinster opening pair put on 52 in 7 overs before Sorcha got the breakthrough in her first over dismissing Livingstone on 16. The retirement of Kerrison after an excellent 35 and the quick dismissal by Sorcha again of the incoming batter, Cassidy, for a duck halted the momentum. Despite a confident 22 from McDonnell she was bowled by Richardson trying to push the run rate on. Further wickets from Gill and Brennan and a run out by Sorcha ended the innings on 92. The team combined of both Malahide & Clontarf girls bowled and fielded very well with some stand out figures - Sorcha's 2/13 runs, Mae Bolster Creanes 0/11 and Fiona's 4/1 the pick of the bowlers.

Sorcha opened the batting with Una RH but was bowled on 3 and it was Una and Fiona who put on 77 for the next loss which was the automatic retirement of Fiona, followed by Una’s with the score on 89. Mae was unable to add to the runs and it was left to Caoimhe and Margaret to get the 4 runs needed for victory in 17.1 overs.

The Girls only managed 5 games in the season, losing to Leinster in the cup and then YMCA in the league but had wins over Leinster, The Hills and RU with rain draws against Merrion and Rush
